Kaitlan has always been close with my family, after all she is my sisters best friend. we grew up with each other and often went out together and caused trouble. When katitlan told me she was pregnant I was still new to photography and deciding what my heart wanted to capture most. I knew for sure that I would be the one to take her maternity photos and shortly after that I asked to capture her birth.

Kaitlan, Dan and Ella were amazing during the maternity session and Ella was so happy and energetic she kept telling me how she couldn’t wait for her baby brother to be born.

Kaitlan and her Drs decided that it was time to met this little babe so she was scheduled for an induction. The afternoon after the induction started I drove down to Southern Maine Healthcare and joined her in the room. The atmosphere was light and happy. Kaitlan was surrounded by people who loved her and they were all smiling and laughing. Shortly after I got there I sat down with kaitlan and began removing the old chipped nail polish oh her fingernails and we talked and tried to keep her mind of of her contractions. She was doing amazing breathing through each wave that came.

After a few hours of contractions picking up and each one getting harder to work through Kaitlan decided on an epidural. Once we returned back into the room Dan was lovingly holding kaitlan telling her it would be alright. He held her and whispered words of encouragement to her until she was was more comfortable.

After about an hour kaitlan began having contractions right on top of each other, it seemed like one contraction had started to end right as the next began. She could tell that things were getting close so Dan ran to grab a nurse. Almost immediately as the nurse came in the Dr followed. It was time to meet this baby boy.

Kaitlan began pushing with Dan on one side of her and Her mother on the next. She pushed for maybe 20 minuets and her little man was in her arms. At first he didn’t start crying so the nurse was listening to his heart and making heartbeat patterns with her fingers for the Dr to see. It seemed like an eternity before he let out that first cry. Kaitlan was overcome with emotion and so was everyone else in the room. Her beautiful baby boy was here.

Weston Robert Heidenstorm was born on September 27th 2019 at 6:06 pm weighing 8Lbs and 1oz. A perfectly healthy baby boy.

When weston was handed to Dan he took one look at him and was so overcome with joy that he cried happy tears. Welcome to the world baby Weston.
